Competition dates will be emailed to the clubs and captains of all participating individuals and teams, printed in the League’s Fixture & Rules wall charts, displayed in local newspapers and on the League’s competitions web page. Any competing individual or team captain who is unsure of the date or venue of the next round of the respective competition should contact the Competitions Secretary for confirmation, since non-attendance or failure to play the designated match on time could result in their automatic elimination from the competition and a fine. All individual winners and captains of winning teams “MUST return their score cards to the Competition Secretary by the date stated. Failure to do so will result in their automatic elimination from the competition. Players who don’t turn up without giving 48 hours’ notice will be fined £5 this will be put on the team bill giving the players name so as the team captain can collect it from the player, teams who don’t turn up will be fined £20 for league or cup matches
Is a scratch competition open only to the top 32 players in the League. Qualification is by virtue of their performance in the current season. League matches and at the discretion of the Management Committee. The format is Waterloo style with the top 16 players seeded. The early rounds are the best of 3 frames, the semi-finals are the best of 5 frames, and the final the best of 7 frames. All matches are on neutral tables. Entry to the competition is free.
TEAM KNOCKOUT HANDICAP COMPETITION
All current MCSL teams have automatic entry into this competition. Teams shall consist of 6 players. Players cannot play for more than 1 team in the current season’s competition. Each team player will use their own current league handicap and it shall be recorded on the scoreboard prior to the commencement of each individual frame.
Each round is individually drawn with the first drawn being the home team, except for the semi-finals and final when the matches will be played on neutral tables. Matches will be decided by the team with the higher aggregate score. If the aggregate scores are equal the match will be replayed on the away team’s tables within 14 days, except for the semi-finals and finals, where the venue and date will be decided by the Management Committee. If the replay ends in a tie the match will be decided by playing one extra frame, the captains shall nominate a player for this deciding frame. All Rounds have free entry.
CHARITY TEAM KNOCKOUT COMPETITION
The rules for this competition are the same as those for the TEAM KNOCKOUT COMPETITION Each team player will use their own current league handicap and it shall be recorded on the scoreboard prior to the commencement of each individual frame. The team shall consist of 6 registered players from a club. The entry fee per team is £15.
INDIVIDUAL HANDICAP COMPETITION
A handicap competition open to all League players. All the early rounds are individually drawn in groups of 2, 3 or 4 players. Each group will play down to 1 player at the same venue on the same date. All matches will be best of 3 frame except for the final which will be the best of 5 frames. The entry fee will be £2.
ALLIANCE PAIRS HANDICAP COMPETITION
A pair’s team handicap competition open to all league players. Each team shall consist of two players from the same club. Reserve players are not allowed. Each team shall be allocated a handicap prior to the commencement of the competition. The team handicap will be the average of the two player’s current handicap and must be recorded on the score board at the start of each frame. Each frame shall be played by the two pairs of players. All early matches shall be played over two frames. The semi-finals and final shall be played over three frames. The team with the highest aggregate score wins the match. Each team shall open alternate frames. The order of play shall be declared prior to the commencement of each frame and must remain the same throughout that frame. The opening of the third frame in the semi-final and final shall be decided by the usual toss of a coin. Players may change the order of play at the start of each frame. In the event of the aggregate score being equal at the end of the match the black is re-spotted. The pair who choose to play the first stroke have the choice of which player will make that first stroke. The order of play must then continue as in the frame. The entry fee is £5 per team.

YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR
A handicap competition open to players under 25. All rounds to be of three frame duration except for the Final which will be the best of five frames. The entry is free. If this competition is not run the management committee may award this trophy at their discretion.
THE OWLEYWOOD THREE MAN TEAM
The Three Man Team shall consist of any three players from either 3 or 4 nominated players entered from the same club, Any three nominated players can play in any round each player shall use their current league handicap which must be recorded on the score board prior to commencement of each individual frame. Matches are decided on the higher aggregate score. If the team aggregate scores are equal each team captain shall nominate a player to play a deciding frame, entry fee is £5 per team.
THE ASHLEY SENIORS HANDICAP
A handicap competition open to all League players over 50 years of age. All matches will be best of 3 frame including the final. Each round is individually drawn with the first drawn being the home player. The entry fee will be £2

This trophy is awarded for outstanding performances or excellence at the discretion of the Management Committee.

This trophy is awarded to the player with the best overall break in League Matches or Competitions
